Camp Awhitu

Camp Awhitu was a huge success for the children and parents alike. We had a blast kayaking, walking up huge mountains to view ancient pa sites and listen to Mr George Flavell give a history of the site, eating hangi food and enjoying the children's performances.

The visit to Earthtalk generated a lot of excitiment as the children ooohed over the worm farm, and arghhs as they drank the sugary liquid from the sugar cane they crushed. Our Deputy Principal, Mr Merchant, earned the reputation as being the best weaver of putiputi harakeke.

Awhitu's weather man, Brian Hamilton, gave the children a practical example of one person trying to stop global warming.

A big thank you to Lisa for providing all the yummy food for everyone to eat, and to Ross for coming in especially to take the Spotlight on Monday night!

Parents Mathletics – URGENT

Parents please support your child’s learning by register on the Mathletics website.
WPS has paid for your child to have free access to the Mathletics program and has set the target for each child to achieve a minimum of 1,000 points each week.
Mathletics is a fun way to do mathematics for homework and compares your child’s score to other children in New Zealand and across the world!
It will also send you directly a weekly report on your child’s participation and performance.
So click on the link below and register yourself – you will need your child’s log-in details, too.
