Dana wins the WPS Learning Trophy

I have won the WPS Learning Trophy because I work well and always finish my work ahead of time to a very high standard.

Ms Clydesdale said that I'm always first to finish stuff and I set the pace for everyone to copy!

I feel happy that all my good work is recognised.

Jake is an Auckland Soccer Rep!

I am in the Auckland rep team called 'The Strikers' in soccer. There is a big tournament up in Auckland from Tuesday 27th September till Friday 1st Octber 2010. We are versing regional teams and we will be sleeping in dorms for 4 nights, where we are playing. We will be versing Wellington and other regions.
I play centre forward, because I'm a good shooter. I was training with a team lower than me, called 'The Stars'. I didn't know that I was in 'The Strikers' till yesterday. I was proud of myself to make it into a higher team and to go to the tournament.
We had a friendly against The Bay of Plenty in Pukekohe last Sunday and we beat them 2-1!

Future House

This is what our house is going to look like in the future. This took us an hour and 15 minutes to build, after maths. It has 2 swimming pools and a jacuzzi, a movie theatre, a diving pool with a bungy jump, and an ice-cream truck, the world's biggest burger and a fireplace. There are 3 massive bedrooms and only one bathroom, because we ran out of blocks. We had a kitchen and a stadium.

Taine shoots for trophies!

Taine has been doing archery for four years with the Franklin County Archers. It's exciting, because when he does shoots, there are 3-D targets and lots of different 3-D animals. Sometimes he goes hunting with his dad and his two brothers, and he has shot a goat with his bow, and a couple of possums and carp!
He has won lots of awards, but they are mostly certificates. He won his first animal trophy two years ago, and won a competition trophy last year. Taine was shooting against one of the best archers in his club who is about 40 years old. He felt nervous, and was excited and happy when he won.
Taine shoots with a Browning Micro Midas 3. He brought his bow in to school and showed us, because he had been reading about bows and arrows in his reading group, the Chocolate Covered Reading Bananas.

Trash to Fashion Highly Commended!

Shannon, Brooke, Pagan, Rose, Ricky and Georgia were very glam as they attended the Final of Waitakere City's Trash to Fashion event yesterday afternoon. They were stoked when they received a special award from the Judges for 'research and sourcing of their materials'.

They spent hours and hours working on their garment and Shannon was a brilliant model with her blue makeup.

Our especially big thank you goes out to Shelly, who drove this group into making sure that they kept on task and completed the garment, as well as spending many long hours waiting at the rehearsals!

Have a look at the Trash to Fashion website:

2x2 algorithms!

It was a struggle to figure out how to get the answer. I had to practise the algorithms heaps and Cody helped me by showing me the columns - to go up and then across, because that's what I got confused with. Now I know how to do my algorithms and I feel happy now that I can do my work in time.
