Top Academic Year 7 Student

The top WPS Year 7 Academic Student for 2010 is Arabella. She is the top Year 7 student in Maths with Stage 8 in GLOSS and IKAN. Arabella is reading at a 14.5 - 15.5 years, and is writing at a 4A level. She also scored a stanine 9 in her PAT Reading tests at the beginning of the year.
Arabella was really proud to get the award, because she has tried to work hard and it made her feel like she is pretty smart (which she is!).
Congratulations Arabella!
And thanks to Mrs Stirling for teaching us how to make paper snowflakes this afternoon.

Farewell our lovely Whaea!

A big thank you to our lovely Whaea Josie for creating a wonderful kapa haka group. Her teaching in R00m 8 has been awesome and spectacular, and Room 8 has learnt so much. Jamie-lee will miss Whaea's great ideas, and thanks Whaea for inspiring her to sing.
We all wish her good luck for next year as the Deputy Principal at Pukekohe North School.
Nga mihi nui!

World Champion Cyclist Kaytee Boyd

World Champion Cyclist Kaytee Boyd cycled into WPS to speak to Rooms 8 and 14 this morning. She told us that if you put your mind to it you can do anything! If you follow your goal you can achieve whatever you want.
Kaytee got to meet all the athletes at the Commonwealth Games and she has heaps of medals and came 5th in the Womens Tour de France. Kaytee needs to put on weight because she is the thinnest on the NZ team. Kaytee said that you can do anything and she encouraged us to be good sports people.
